ECOPHILOSOPHY AS A WORLDVIEW BASIS OF GLOBALIZATION AND DIGITALIZATION

Abstract

Aim To consider ecophilosophy as the worldview basis of the globalization and digitalization processes, which determines the stable development of the modern society, the construction of harmonious or at least correct relations within the human - society - nature system. Methodology. The study consistently examines the historical evolution of ecophilosophy and its problematic field, the formation of ecocentrism as an ethical alternative to the traditional anthropocentric worldview, the cumulative impact of the globalization and digitalization processes on the sphere of ecology and nature management. Dialectical, historical, comparative and prognostic research methods are used. Results. In the study, from the standpoint of ecophilosophy the rejection of the historically dominant principle of anthropocentrism in favor of the principles of environmentalism and ecocentrism is justified. Environmentalism, globalization and digitalization are recognized not only as interrelated, but also as dependent phenomena that have a cumulative impact on the formation of a paradigm of sustainable development. Their correlation is considered as a starting point for the effective resolution of environmental and other global problems of nowadays. Research implications. The theoretical significance of the research lies in an attempt to present ecophilosophy as an actual and vital basis for the worldview of the humanity in the era of globalization and digitalization. The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility of applying its main conclusions and provisions to construct harmonious relations within the human - society - nature system in accordance with the paradigm of sustainable development.
