Abstract

Aim. To reveal the features of the philosophy of love in Russian literature. Methodology. The literary and artistic works of the classics of the 19th century, of the early 20th century and of the period of the Great Patriotic War are analyzed. Based on the historical-philosophical approach and socio-philosophical analysis, it was concluded that in Russian literature, love is multilayered, contradictory, different levels of love are revealed through different times and historical events, striving for its full disclosure, never reaching this goal. With all the variety of manifestations of love, there is something in common in its nature, meaning and character, namely, the metaphysics of love, which is the true existence of the man. General scientific methods of theoretical knowledge, methods of system analysis, comparison and generalization of foreign and Russian studies on the problem of the philosophy of love in the works of Russian writers and poets are applied. Results. In the context of the disclosure of the philosophy of love, expressed in the creative activity of Russian classics, love is presented as a source of being that exists in various forms, which can be classified as follows: 1) in the form of absoluteness and objectivity, arising without preconditions, love permeates absolutely everything; 2) in the form of relativity and subjectivity, love is an inner experience of a person; 3) in the form of transcendence, love goes beyond corporeality, life, gaining immortality. Love can be a striving for perfection, and then it itself becomes perfection, in which God is the semantic intuition of love. Attraction and admiration, lust and care, sympathy and reverence - this is the classification of love. Love is plastic in its appeal to the beautiful, the ascent from the beauty of the body to the beauty of the soul, to the beauty of the spirit, and God. A cross-cutting theme of the works of Russian writers is: Love as Life and Love as Death, as a great sacrifice, and self-sacrifice. Research implications. The material on the topic under study is summarized. The results of the study contribute to the methodological basis of social philosophy and are due to the technogenic civilization, information and other technologies that are embedded in new social relations and change the meanings of human life values, transforming the most vulnerable of them. The topic of gender relations, the relationship between a man and a woman, the modern understanding of love comes into conflict with the philosophy of love expressed in Russian literature. Awareness of the primacy of the spiritual side of love, its sacred meaning, love as a mystery, beauty, which has its own secret, mysterious language, can become a guideline for the spiritual and moral development of society and is an effective means of manifesting the essence of man and restoring his integral nature and patriotism development.
